Limo Firms Not to Recruit Foreign Drivers

JEDDAH, 17 February 2005 — Labor Minister Dr. Ghazi Al-Gosaibi said his ministry would not allow recruitment of new foreign drivers to work for limousine companies. He said the fresh Saudization drive in the limousine sector would help employ at least 10,000 Saudi jobseekers.

Dr. Al-Gosaibi emphasized his ministry’s efforts to increase the Saudization of jobs in the industry by 100 percent. “Despite all our efforts, the number of Saudi drivers working at limousine companies did not reach eight percent as official estimates indicated,” the Saudi Press Agency quoted the minister as saying.
