RIYADH, 6 March 2005 — The world’s leading printing technology solutions provider Heidelberg will launch its latest products at a five-day Saudi Print and Pack exhibition to be held here from today at the Riyadh International Exhibition Center.
The German blue chip has invested SR1 million in the five-day event, and a large regional and international delegation has arrived for the event.
Saudi Print and Pack comes on the heels of Gulf Print and Pack held in Dubai in September 2004, at which Heidelberg spent SR3 million and secured sales of more than SR25 million. Officials of Saudi joint venture partners Juffali Group said that the exhibition will be an opportunity to appreciate the competitive advantage Heidelberg’s relationship with one of Saudi Arabia’s largest business groups gives the global major.
Heidelberg will occupy one of the largest stands at the venue, measuring 72 sq. m., Zeid Al-Jehni, Heidelberg Middle East general manager, said, “Per capita print consumption is 423 euros in Japan and 227 euros in Europe, while in the Middle East it is just 16 euros. The room for growth of the Middle East sector is very clear and Saudi Arabia will be a key driver of this expansion.”
Also attending the show with five senior representatives from Germany, Dr. Joachim Englisch, managing director of Heidelberg Gulf Establishment, added, “Net sales of Heidelberg Middle East FZCO rose 17 percent in 2004 compared to 2003 and the forecasts are very positive for the year ahead. Our joint venture with Juffali Group has ensured close and integrated support for all key Gulf and Middle East markets, and specialist customer consultancy is one of our major competitive advantages in this part of the world.”
Heidelberg Middle East boasts full-fledged offices in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam as well as in Muscat, Abu Dhabi, Manama, and Dubai.
