ALULA: AlUla is among the major tourist attractions on World Heritage Day, which takes place on April 18.

The occasion is a global reminder of the importance of protecting cultural heritage sites, community traditions, and landmarks for future generations.

There are few places in the world which bring history to life like AlUla.

The oasis city in northwest Saudi Arabia offers a landscape filled with magnificent ancient monuments — it is a living museum that reveals how our past can inspire a vibrant future.

Hegra is the Kingdom’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, where monumental Nabataean tombs carved into sandstone cliffs stand as a testament to a remarkable ancient civilisation.

AlUla’s ancient capitals at Dadan and Jabal Ikmah are also a key attraction.

In the ruins of the Dadanite and Lihyanite civilizations, lion sculptures still watch over the legacy of kings. At the Dadan exhibition the legacy of these mighty rulers is further unveiled through a curated collection of unearthed treasures.

Meanwhile, Jabal Ikmah offers an open-air library where hundreds of inscriptions are etched into rock.

Tourists can also enjoy an unmatched glimpse into AlUla’s cosmic heritage when the Milky Way reveals its endless wonder.

Heritage Oasis Trail and Al-Harra volcanic plateaus are also major attractions.
