DUBAI: The draft agreement between the United States and Iran will include a series of significant commitments aimed at reducing tensions and stabilizing the region, according to a copy of the document obtained by Al Arabiya.
Al Arabiya did not say where they obtained the document from.
The proposed deal outlines a mutual pledge by both parties to comply with international law and the United Nations Charter, signaling a renewed emphasis on diplomatic engagement and adherence to global norms.
A key component of the draft is the gradual lifting of US sanctions on Iran with Tehran committing to fully adhere to the terms outlined in the agreement in return.
These include guarantees of freedom of navigation in the Arabian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, and the Sea of Oman as well as mutual commitments to respect sovereignty and territorial integrity, alongside a pledge of non-interference in each other’s internal affairs.
The agreement also includes a clause prohibiting attacks on military, civilian, and economic infrastructure, however, the terms on Iran's nuclear programme are yet to be known.
The agreement would be expected to come into effect immediately after its official announcement by both Washington and Tehran.
