JEDDAH: The National Center for Meteorology said that climate forecasts for summer 2026 indicated above-normal temperatures across all regions of Saudi Arabia, while rainfall was expected to range between near-normal and below-normal levels in several areas.
In its seasonal climate report, the center said that rainfall in June was expected to remain near normal across the Kingdom.
Forecasts for July indicated below-average rainfall in Jazan, Baha, parts of Asir, Makkah, Najran and the Eastern regions, while precipitation was expected to remain near normal in the rest of the Kingdom.
The center said that June could see increases of up to 1.5 degrees Celsius above normal in Jazan, Baha, parts of Makkah, Asir, Madinah, Riyadh, Qassim, Hail and Tabuk.
During July and August, temperatures are expected to rise by as much as 1.6 degrees Celsius above normal in Jazan, Baha, and parts of Asir and Makkah.
The center stressed the importance of following reports and updates issued through its official channels to support preparedness in operational and service sectors and enhance planning for summer climate conditions.
