MANAMA, 13 April 2005 — Officials from Gulf Air denied yesterday reports circulated by UPI of having an Israeli travel agency as representative.
“We categorically deny these claims,” a spokeswoman for the airline said yesterday. On Monday, UPI news agency quoted Yariv Fischer, director-general of the East Jerusalem based Hala Tours travel agency, as saying that his company is Gulf Air’s representative in the area. Fischer allegedly told the agency that passengers picking up a Gulf Air flight from Amman reach the Jordanian capital with Israel’s privately owned airline Arkia. He added that most of the clients are foreign workers en route to the Far East and Australia and that his agency is trying to develop an Israeli market.
