CyberGuard has brought to market a new all-in-one wireless workgroup security and data access appliance, the CyberGuard SG565, designed to secure the wireless and wired local area networks of small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
The new appliance unifies defenses to combat blended threats via a single device combining firewall, intrusion prevention and gateway antivirus and enables these capabilities over wired fast Ethernet and Wi-Fi WLAN networks, allowing small offices to implement secure file and print services by attaching off-the-shelf USB disk drives and printers. This allows SMBs, as well as larger enterprises with regional, branch and satellite offices, to deploy remote or temporary office networks using a sub $1,000 business-class desktop appliance.
“The CyberGuard SG565 delivers a cost-effective and comprehensive security appliance that enables any remote office network to safely become part of a trusted central network — in effect, creating a secure instant office network,” said Bashar Bashaireh, regional manager, Middle East and North Africa, CyberGuard.
