JEDDAH, 4 July 2005 — The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) has appealed to member states, charitable institutions and relief organizations to provide humanitarian assistance to the people of Niger.
In a statement made available to Arab News here, OIC Secretary-General Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu asked for support to the “brotherly country” in its “hour of need”.
Ihsanoglu said a special account has been opened at the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) No: 5551000190306 in line with the resolution adopted at the 32nd session of the Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers (IFCM) that concluded in Sanaa recently.
