CAIRO, 11 July 2005 — Young Egyptian actress Mai Izz El-Din is in a state of total bewilderment over her latest film “Boha” in which she stars alongside Egyptian comedian actor Ahmad Saed.
The promotional ads for the film lack her photograph and name is written in very small letters, unlike the names of Saed and Lublubah, whose names are prominently featured.
Mai said that she does not know why she is not being highlighted in the advertisements, especially since she is the leading actress.
Mai presents a completely different character in the film from any of her previous roles. Instead of a wealthy woman, this time the actress plays a commoner.
The film marks Mai’s return to the cinema after a long absence, and the failure of her last two films “Kimo Wantimo” and “Farah.”
Actor Hassan Husni also stars alongside Mai. Rami Imam, son of comedian-actor Adel Imam, is the director, marking his third directing venture.
