It gives me immense pleasure in expressing my heartfelt felicitation on this Independence Day of Pakistan. I am pleased to state that Pakistani community in the Western Region has been supportive of the Consulate General in bringing a positive change and making a worthwhile contribution in strengthening Pakistan - Saudi Arabia relationship.

We are thankful to Allah Almighty that we are blessed with a sincere and dynamic leadership in Pakistan, which is making all efforts to make Pakistan an economically vibrant country. This is in consonance with aspirations and teachings of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah — the Founder of Pakistan.

The government believes in continuity and consistency of policies of good governance and a high degree of transparency and accountability in the country.

Pakistan under President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has achieved desirable results both internally and externally.

Economically, Pakistan is witnessing an economic boom with GDP growing at 7% this year. Foreign debts have been reduced by $6bn in the last three years. Foreign currency reserves stand at an all-time high of almost $13bn. The Karachi Stock Market (KSE), which had never crossed 2,000 points since the creation of Pakistan, is at 7,500 points. We could not have achieved these without the support of overseas Pakistanis especially from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia who have contributed and shown full confidence in the policies of the government.

At the end, I would like to stress again to all my Pakistani brothers and sisters to continue working with devotion and dedication individually and collectively for upholding the dignity and honor of a proud Pakistani nation. (Pakistan Zindabad)
