HYDERABAD, 7 September 2005 — Maharashtra police have arrested two suspects for issuing threats to former Indian cricket captain Mohammed Azharuddin. Both suspects are from Hyderabad. They were identified as Rafeeq Bin Shimlan and Ghouse, who are on a Hyderabad police list of criminals. They were arrested in Hyderabad and taken away by Maharashtra police after the confession of an underworld conduit arrested earlier by Aurangabad police about the plot to kill Azharuddin. Maharashtra police also picked up for interrogation three more suspects from the Lal Darwaza area of the Old City.
