JEDDAH, 6 October 2005 — The Disabled Children Society’s Jeddah branch has launched a fund-raising project with the cooperation of Vertigo Restaurant. The project, called “Life Heroes”, aims at providing moral and financial support to disabled children under the care of the society.

Under the project, the restaurant will allocate 10 percent of each iftar meal for the disabled children. This is in addition to Vertigo’s charity riyal which is an extra riyal optionally added to each customer’s bill. Vertigo will also offer an entertainment program for the children on Fridays. Dr. Darwish Al-Khadra, the restaurant’s owner, expressed his joy in cooperating with DCA and emphasized that caring for disabled children is a social and religious obligation.

DCA is chaired by Prince Sultan ibn Salman and it has six branches so far.
