Plans to Merge 50 Transport Companies

JEDDAH, 30 October 2005 — A number of businessmen took the executive steps in coordination with the municipality, Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and the land transport committee at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry to establish a central station for international land transport in Jeddah. Ali Al-Naqoor, chairman of the International Group for Investment, that the funding for the project would be through a joint stock company to be formed for this purpose, reported Al-Eqtisadiah. Al-Naqoor said that there are more than 50 land transport companies but none offer high quality service.
