Birds Die in Qunfuda Farm

QUNFUDA, 13 November 2005 — The number of birds found dead on a local farm in Qunfuda south of Jeddah has increased fears of bird flu. The birds fell sick and died in a very short time. Omar Al-Fakeeh, manager of the agriculture department in Qunfuda, said that his department had received news of the deaths and that early tests indicated it was not bird flu but another virus fatal to birds. He assured the public that his department was monitoring the situation closely.
