Sugar Daddy’s Marriage a Nine-Month Affair

JEDDAH, 1 August 2006 — A rich Saudi man in his fifties had more than one million riyals burning a hole in the pocket of his thobe and decided to get rid of it by splurging for a 17-year-old wife, the Al-Madinah daily reported yesterday. As part of the pre-nuptial agreement, the young woman requested SR500,000 for dowry and an additional SR300,000 in the event of a divorce. Additionally, she wanted a house in her name, a new car, a driver and a maid. She also requested open permission to leave the country as she pleases for travel. Unsurprisingly, the young bride spent so much time enjoying the freedom outside of the Kingdom that the marriage lasted only nine months.
