JEDDAH, 7 February 2006 — Under the support of Princess Hessa Al-Shalaan, the wife of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah, the Jeddah International Exhibition Center is hosting the Third Exhibition of Women’s Crafts.

The exhibition, which started on Sunday, closes on Feb. 9. The exhibition is sponsored by the women’s branches of two charitable organizations — Prince Majed ibn Abdul Aziz Society for Social Services and Development and the Al-Iman Society for Charitable Services and Care of Cancer Patients. Tickets are on sale at the door — SR10 for adults and SR5 for children.

“This exhibition aims at giving a chance for talented Saudi women to show their crafts and home-made items,” said Arwa Zari, director of public relations for Prince Majed Society.

In addition to the handcrafts and homemade items, the exhibition offers a number of free lectures to increase women’s awareness and general knowledge, Zari said. Among them are: How to Establish a Small Business Enterprise, the Importance of Pre-Marriage Check-Up, Getting Closer to Our Children by Understanding their Drawings, Domestic Violence and Women’s Rights in Islam.
