JEDDAH, 6 November 2006 — Saudi Arabia face Japan today in the quarterfinals of the AFC Youth Championship at the Kanteerava Stadium in Bangalore, India.
The game is set at 4 p.m. local time with the winner advancing to a semifinal duel with either South Korea or Australia, who take on each other in one of two quarterfinal ties in Kolkata. Iraq and North Korea play in the second game at 7 p.m. in Bangalore for a spot in the semifinal against the winner of the other Kolkata match pitting China against Jordan.
The semifinal will be played on Nov. 9 and the final on Nov. 12.
The four semifinalists in the tournament earn automatic berths at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup to be held in Canada next year.
