SNAS/DHL, in partnership with the Lebanese Consulate in Jeddah and the Saudi Red Crescent, recently joined efforts to deliver humanitarian relief aid to Lebanon. Lebanese Consul General Ghassan Moallem said: “We’ve established a campaign for the aid of Lebanon which included the collection of humanitarian aid material and general medical supplies, first aid as well as medicine for chronic diseases such as heart and diabetes. We coordinated with the Saudi Red Crescent.” He added: “SNAS/DHL supported humanitarian aid efforts and played a major role in helping the Lebanese people in this time of crisis. SNAS/DHL provided the necessary aid to help ease the suffering of Lebanese war victims. We continued to employ our logistics expertise hoping it facilitated relief efforts for an expeditious recovery,” said Hicham Mahmoud, SNAS/DHL’s communications manager.

Hemaya Universal Company (HUC) honored its field inspectors who are responsible for following-up and implementing programs that protect the clients’ interests and promote coordination with related authorities. HUC Chairman Ahmed Al-Zubeidi presented certificates to the employees, following the completion of their training program that was established for the operations department employees at the ‘Canon’ company that provided training in various aspects including the distinguishing of original goods from and the fake ones and also in various legal procedures and company rights pertaining to counterfeiting of products. HUC is a service provider specialized in fighting the faking of branded products (counterfeiting) vis-à-vis those protected by copyrights and related rights.

For the fifth time in the Middle East, Lux presents Lux Fashion World (LFW) — a fashion and beauty event that allows each woman to embrace her own unique style. Lebanese designers Georges Hobeika and Nicolas Jebran will be present at this year’s event, as well as Lebanese make-up artists who will also be showcasing their talents. LFW will be held in Beirut from Nov. 7-8 and will be attended by celebrities and stars of the Arab world. The upcoming event acknowledges Lebanon’s importance as the center of beauty and fashion in the region. “Lux is about the indulgent ritual of beautification. Our aim with LFW is to let women in the region explore their femininity and own unique style of beauty,” Iain Potter vice president, marketing, home and personal care, Unilever Arabia, said.

Showtime Arabia, a pay-TV network in the Middle East, has added an Arabic version of its electronic program guide (EPG) to its service, enabling Arabic viewers instant access to a seven-day on-screen TV guide. The Arabic service, which follows the launch of an English version earlier this year, gives viewers a quick and simple way of finding out full channel listings up to seven days in advance, as well as additional information about each movie, program or episode selected. Showtime’s Director of Engineering and Technology Mike Whittaker said: “All Showtime subscribers now have access to a comprehensive and interactive TV guide at the touch of a button. Selecting EPG on the remote control gives subscribers the ability to plan their viewing in advance while simultaneously watching their favorite shows.”

MasterCard Worldwide, a leader in advancing global commerce, has an ongoing holiday season campaign in Saudi Arabia, which ends on Jan. 17. Together with participating customer banks, MasterCard is offering its cardholders the chance to win one of 35 prizes worth SR20,000 each when using their MasterCard credit card. The cardholders, who bank with participating banks and spend a minimum of SR500 in transactions during the entire campaign period, will automatically enter into a prize draw. Each bank will pick its winners at the end of the campaign and 35 winners will receive SR20,000 each, which will be credited to their MasterCard credit card.
