MAKKAH, 3 May 2006 — Police transferred the case of the wife accusing her ex-husband’s wife of torturing her two children to court.

The mother accuses the wife of torturing her children when they would come on court-mandated visits with their father.

The wife demanded that her children not be allowed to be with the stepmother alone or to allow them to travel abroad with their father when the stepmother was accompanying them. She also sued the father for failing to make alimony payments.

Authorities had asked the mother to stop sending her children to visit the father until a court decision was issued.

Last week the mental health department at King Abdul Aziz Hospital in Makkah determined that the two girls are suffering from mental strife due to their ill-treatment by the stepmother.
