JEDDAH, 30 May 2006 — Yasser ibn Abdul Aziz Al-Ghaslan has been appointed managing editor of Asharq Al-Awsat in Saudi Arabia.
Tariq Alhomayed, editor in chief of the Arabic daily, made the new appointment as part of the newspaper’s strategy to strengthen its offices across the Kingdom.
Al-Ghaslan, who has proved his skills by taking up a number of important positions in Saudi Research & Publishing Company, is a seasoned journalist. He has to his credit 16 years experience in print media, television and public relations.
Al-Ghaslan worked as director of media services and director of the media sector before becoming the director of the business development department. He had worked for the Italian Radio and Television during the war for the liberation of Kuwait. He holds a bachelor’s degree in media and journalism and has attended a number of training courses.
