MAKKAH, 6 September 2006 — A young freak took off all of his clothes and got into a hired car while the driver and a group of women teachers were inside a mosque for prayer, the Okaz daily reported yesterday. When the women came out, they saw the youth wearing nothing but what God gave him. The women screamed, and called for help. The police arrived, clothed the youth and then arrested him. A local court sentenced him to one month in prison, where he will hopefully learn to keep his clothes on — for his own sake.
Cousin Paid Off by Bride’s Father
JEDDAH, 6 September 2006 — The cousin of a woman about to be wedded couldn’t take it any more. He stood up at the wedding hall and staked his claim to the bride, the Al-Madinah newspaper reported yesterday. The bride’s father dissuaded the young man by paying him SR30,000 ($8,000). Tribal leaders urged the young man to take the money and find another woman in the tribe to marry.
