RIYADH, 25 July 2006 — The provincial governorates are geared up for the charity drive for the war-hit people of Lebanon scheduled to begin tomorrow. Saudi Television’s Channel One will hold its telethon tomorrow from 1 p.m.
The channel has made all preparations with necessary manpower and technology to make the campaign a huge success. Prominent religious and social personalities will appear in the program, to be aired on all Saudi channels. Interior Minister Prince Naif announced the donation campaign on the directive of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah on July 20.
The telephone numbers and account number will be announced at the initial stage of the campaign. The donations in kind will be accepted at the provincial governors’ offices and sports cities, the Saudi Press Agency reported yesterday.
