RIYADH, 11 October 2006 — What is being called the first ever international jewelry exhibition will be held in Riydah during Ramadan.
Speaking on behalf of Harvey Nichols, the organizer of the show, a spokesman said the exhibition would be held after the launch of the Eid collection of traditional Arab women’s dress. He said, “As a pioneer in the fashion industry, Harvey Nichols goes out of its way to give its customers the latest fashions in the most tasteful presentations.”
According to him, Harvey Nichols broke new ground when it began hosting promotional events three years ago. One of the highlights was the exhibition of a jewelry collection by Jihan Allama, wife of the celebrated Lebanese singer Ragheb Allama, in the 2005 Ramadan Jalabia and Jewelry Road Show.
The spokesman said this year the exhibition presents the collections of Amadeus, Azza Fahmy, Dina Azar, Nada Ghazal, Queenie, Randa Khalil and Sara Wahab. The names, he said, have made their marks both in their own countries and around the world. “Each designer has a unique style, thus giving the exhibition a cosmopolitan touch. The 9th of October was the VIP preview of the collections with personal appearances by the designers. That is followed by a five-day public display at Harvey Nichols at Al-Fasialiah Center. Internationally acclaimed Egyptian designer Azza Fahmy, will exhibit her exclusive collection. The VIP preview will be on October 16, when customers will have the opportunity to meet the designer in person. The exhibition will then be open to the public from Oct. 17 to 19.
The spokesman said “Harvey Nichols’ name has become synonymous with innovative fashion. The collections in the store come straight off the catwalks of the world’s fashion capitals.”
