Above the Law? Not in This Case!

MADINAH, 1 December 2006 — A cop here thought he could get away with a little badge flashing to get out of a traffic violation when he was pulled over for speeding, the daily Okaz reported yesterday. Instead, he found himself in the slammer just like the plebeians under orders of the chief of police. After hearing reports of the incident from the police chief, Madinah Gov. Prince Abdul Aziz ibn Majed ordered the officer’s car impounded and the cop jailed for 24 hours, the typical punishment for speeding.
