RIYADH, 26 January 2007 — The Kingdom will once again enhance the existing economic relations with India in the upcoming two-day seminar-cum-catalog show to be held here on January 29 and 30.
Dr.Hussein Al-Athel, secretary general of the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry will address the present ties between the two countries and, along with other speakers, will identify the scope for bilateral cooperation in information technology, telecommunications, insurance and banking sectors, Azar A.H. Khan, first secretary at the Indian Embassy, told Arab News yesterday.
A catalog show (CATEX 2007) will showcase a large number of product catalogs and CDs representing around 300 Indian companies from various sectors of trade and industry.
The event will also showcase product samples and catalogues of prominent Indian companies in the agriculture, air conditioning, automotive, recreation, construction, healthcare, desalination and other sectors.
India is the fourth largest trading partner of the Kingdom with the two-way trade (non-oil) standing at $3.44 billion in 2005-06.
Saudi Arabia is the 15th largest market in the world for Indian exports, accounting for more than 1.76 percent of India’s global trade.
