Alwaleed Donates $537,000 to Liberia

RIYADH, 6 February 2007 — Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, chairman of the Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), donated $537,000 to the National Transitional Government of Liberia, according to a company statement yesterday. Prince Alwaleed visited Liberia in June 2006 and met the country’s new President Dr. Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, the first ever woman president in the history of Africa. Prince Alwaleed has financed a number of development projects in Liberia since 2005.

Group Plans Jobs Course for Women

Al-JOUF, 6 February 2007 — The Sakaka branch of the National Charitable Organization for Home Health Care with the cooperation of the General Administration for Training in Al-Jouf is currently organizing a job-training course for women. Princess Sarah bint Abdullah, president of the national charitable organization, approved the new venture of the organization that helps equip women for employment. The nine-week course will be held at the Jaguar College of Technology for Languages and Computing in Sakaka. Khayriah Abdullah Al-Salama, director of the organizer, is the supervisor of the course.
