Crown Prince Cup Semis Play Dates Set

RIYADH, 7 March 2007 — The Saudi Football Federation has set the dates for the Crown Prince Cup semifinal matches. The first and second leg semifinals matches will take place in four days. Al-Ittifaq will host Al-Ittihad in Dammam on April 1, while Al-Ahli will host Al-Hilal on April 2 in Jeddah in first leg matches. Ittihad then host Ittifaq in Jeddah on April 5 and Hilal entertain Ahli in Riyadh on April 6. The final match date is yet to be determined after the semifinal matches.

Ittihad’s Amin Out for Rest of the Season

JEDDAH — Al-Ittihad suffered a blow after midfielder Muhammad Amin was ruled out of the team for the rest of the season due to a knee injury. Medical tests revealed Amin had a severe knee injury that would require the player to travel to France for surgery.

Wehda Coach Refuses Al-Kuwaikbi

MAKKAH — The Wehda German coach Bukair has refused the return of striker Al-Kuwaikbi to the main team, insisting that the player stay on with the Olympic team.

Al-Kuwaikbi, on the other hand, refused to comment on the coach’s rebuke saying he was waiting for the decision from the management.

Meanwhile, Wehda management appointed former Wehda team captain Abdullah Khugair as assistant to the general supervisor of the team.

Khojali Demands Half a Million Riyals

RIYADH — Goalkeeper Muhammad Al-Khojali has demanded payment of half a million riyals from the Al-Nasr management in late payment in order for him to rejoin the team training. He said that the amount was due him when he signed a contract. The player was absent from the team most of the time this season in protest for nonpayment of his money.
