JEDDAH, 24 April 2007 — Three women were arrested here after devising a rather unique way of entering people’s homes and stealing valuables, the daily Al-Madinah reported recently. The ruse involved casing a house until the family leaves, then the three women would show up at the door laden with a box of pomegranates and a baby. When the maid answered the door, the women would say the fruit is for the lady of the house. Then one of the women would pretend to receive a phone call from the lady of the house asking her to find something in the house. If the maid was foolish enough to let them in, the women would go around the house stealing small valuable items. One suspicious maid called the cops, who arrested the women as they were inside the home.
