RIYADH, 12 July 2007 — As part of its strategic plan to offer premium services to its card members in the Kingdom, Amex (Saudi Arabia) Ltd announced yesterday an innovative international ‘American Express Selects Program’ that provides its card members with access to thousands of high quality shopping, dining and travel offers in over 50 countries worldwide.
“With a tag line of ‘The World offers, We select, You enjoy’, the program allows American Express card members to benefit from a wide range of tailormade exclusive discounts and value-added offers, when they use their American Express cards for shopping, dining, travel and leisure, both at home and while traveling abroad,” said Nizar Abou Hassan, marketing manager of Amex (Saudi Arabia) Ltd, while announcing the new offer.
Hassan said that card members could easily view the offers by browsing the Selects section at www.americanexpress.com.sa and obtain detailed information. He said, “The American Express brand is recognized for the privileges it gives to its card members.”
“This is a very important addition to our services in the Kingdom that caters to the unique lifestyle of our card members,” he noted, adding, “We are keen on utilizing our global experience in providing premium value to our card members in the Saudi market, and Selects is an innovative program that makes the local, regional and international offers just a click away from our card members.”
Also, Amex has signed a partnership agreement with Octopus Travel, a leading online reservation company offering “Lowest Online Rates Guaranteed” for hotels and many other services for travelers.
“With the introduction of Octopus travel under the umbrella of Selects program, Amex provides its card members with an exceptional experience to enjoy lowest online rates at 23,000 hotels worldwide, where the reservation, tracking and completion of bookings could be easily done online,” said Hassan. Commenting on the new partnership, Fahad Mubarak Al-Ghuthami, Amex’s chief operating officer, said that it adds value to our cards and offers many benefits for our members.
Al-Ghuthami pointed out that the high volume of transactions done by American Express card members brings about strategic benefits to the American Express merchant network. He said that the launch of Selects Program coincides with the start of the summer season, which allows card members to benefit from special offers, wherever they are heading, and whatever their needs are from hotels to car rentals and entertainment in over 50 countries worldwide.
