RIYADH, 20 July 2007 — With more than 50,000 job seekers and 5,000 employers — including 100 top corporate clients — registered within a few months of its being launched, a local recruitment portal, Mihnati.com, has emerged as the largest job portal in the Arab world with a slew of innovative features.
The portal will be shortly launched in three other Gulf countries, where it will deploy its own sales personnel and set up offices, said Ousama Najjar, vice president of Nesma Advanced Technology Co.
“This portal, which has its own offices and operational staff in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Kuwait, is an answer to the growing recruitment needs of thousands of regional and international companies, for whom finding the right candidates is always a challenge...hence, the portal offers access to career sites in all of the six Gulf states,” said Najjar.
The portal, he said, has emerged as an integrated one-stop-shop for companies and institutions with recruitment needs. “In fact, Mihnati.com can help you like no other organization can,” said Najjar, adding that the employers in the Gulf are becoming more and more interested in recruiting online.
“But, this still represents a small number compared to Europe, where 27 percent of companies go online to advertise and recruit staff of their choice,” he said.
Naveed-ur-Rahman, another Nesma executive, said that the portal offers access to career sites in all of the six Gulf countries. “It offers five subscriptions options for employers to place job advertisements and search CVs at reasonable charges, while job seekers can register free of cost,” said Rahman, adding that Mihnati.com has emerged as an ambitious online recruitment project.
“The portal helps job seekers to achieve their career objectives by empowering them with a vast set of online tools to find the best available job opportunities in the region. Starting by advertising jobs, searching job seekers’ database to managing CVs, Mihnati.com provides employers with highly advanced online recruitment tools to find the best talent in the region,” explained Rahman.
The portal is jointly owned by Riyadh-based Nesma and Hasibat, a Kuwait-based company.
Hasibat is a Kuwaiti closed shareholding company listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange since 1987 under the name Kuwait Computer Company with an initial capital of $18.75 million.
