Safecrackers Steal Payroll in Jeddah

JEDDAH, 9 August 2007 — A company payroll of SR40,000 in cash was stolen from a safe at a company on Jeddah’s Palestine Street, the daily Al-Madinah reported yesterday without naming the company or mentioning when the theft took place. According to the report, thieves also stole a 600-kg safe, which was found inside a nearby travel agency office. The report didn’t say if the safe was pried open or whether it was opened with a key or combination. A worker at the company called police after noticing signs of a break-in.
