RIYADH, 7 September 2007 — Etihad Etisalat (Mobily) customers can now enjoy clearer missed call notification via a simple but innovative enhancement made available on Tuesday.

Missed call notification, first made available to prepaid subscribers by Mobily, provides subscribers with an SMS notification message when they have their phones switched off, like when they are traveling on a plane or enter a hospital. Once a customer switches the phone back on, he receives a text message informing him that someone tried to call him. In the past, the SMS text message included the missed call numbers only.

With the new enhancement launched Wednesday, customers have a much more useable service. They receive an SMS text message that appears to have been sent by the caller, telling them how many times that other party called and the last time he or she called.

Once customers get that message, they see the name of the caller instead of a number, saving them the time and effort needed to learn the identity of the caller. For the service to show the name of the caller, customers need to have the name of the caller saved in their mobile handset phonebook.

What makes the service appealing to customers is that they do not need to reconfigure the service on their phones, neither do they need to install exotic software solutions or upgrades.

The service works on all brands of handsets, even older and outdated black and white models. In extremely rare cases, customers may need to configure their handsets by going into their call forwarding options and diverting calls to 1431 (+9665601011431), when they are out of reach.

Missed call notification messages are still received fast, once customers switch their handsets back on. There is no lag or delay associated, as is the case with solutions based on handset dependent software solutions.

Missed call notification, available to both postpaid and prepaid customers, comes bundled free of charge with an array of other value added services, among them, video calling available for free activation and charged by the second, caller line presentation, SMS text messaging, MMS multimedia messaging, metered mobile broadband Internet service. Furthermore, unlike other operators, Mobily bills its customers by the second from the first second of each call.
