ALKHOBAR, 3 February 2008 — A 20-year-old girl went to a local hospital with an intention of murdering her therapist, Al-Yaum newspaper reported yesterday. Nurses in the psychiatric department tried to make it clear to the girl that her doctor was not on duty, but she insisted on seeing her. One of the nurses in the department reportedly found out a sharp cutter in her bag while they were trying to push her out. Authorities were informed immediately and the doctor was prevented from entering the department until the suspect was taken away.
2 Suspects in Armed Robbery Caught
RIYADH, 3 February 2008 — Police arrested two young men in their early 20s for armed robbery, Al-Riyadh newspaper reported yesterday. The local police said they responded to citizens’ complaints of muggings in the same area of the city. The two suspects were arrested after police cased the area where the crimes were reported.
200 Fake Iqamas Found in Raid
RIYADH, 3 February 2008 — Police raided a house in downtown Riyadh and arrested an unreported number of people on forgery charges, the daily Al-Riyadh reported yesterday. According to the report, more than 200 forged iqamas (residence permits) were seized. The suspects are now facing charges. Police didn’t reveal the nationalities of the suspects or if they were illegal residents.
Impersonator Arrested in Asir
ABHA, 3 February 2008 — Police in this southern city arrested a man who was posing as a police officer to shake foreign workers down for money, the daily Al-Riyadh reported yesterday. Police said they managed to return the money to the workers.
