RIYADH, 17 May 2008 — Police arrested four teenage boys who lured an elderly man to an apartment in the eastern part of Riyadh, where they assaulted him, stripped him naked and took indecent photographs of him.
One of the teenagers arrested said he and his friends were provoked into humiliating the man as they suspected him to be a pedophile, a police officer told Al-Watan newspaper.
“He told police that the group wanted to put an end to the old man’s evil habits. He said the man, who is in his 50s, would invite him to his apartment and that he would never go. He also said the victim attempted to tempt him by offering gifts and speak to him as if he was his girlfriend,” said a police officer.
“He said that he wanted to make the man change his ways,” the officer added.
The officer said that the teenagers set up a plan to beat the man up and so lured him to an apartment one night by befriending him. On arriving there, the four teenagers carried out their assault and took pictures of the man naked.
Meanwhile, the victim told police that he went to the apartment after being invited for dinner. On reaching there he was beaten up by four men, had his picture taken and was robbed.
He said his cell phone and ATM card were taken. Police are currently investigating the case.
