JEDDAH — The BMG Saudi Index maintains its upward trend yesterday to reach a closing level at 483.52 points. However, the total turnover went down by 15 percent, reaching SR3.4 billion ($911 million) versus SR4.0 billion ($1.1 million) registered on Saturday.
Two sectors witnessed gains, whereas three declined. The services sector witnessed an increase by 1.2 percent, while the insurance sector went up by 0.7 percent. However, the industrial sector went down by 0.1 percent, the telecommunications sector depreciated by 0.2 percent, and the banking sector decreased by 0.3 percent.
Nine shares went up, while 16 went down, and five stood still. The best performer was Alabdullatif Industrial Investment Co. ascending by 6.6 percent to SR76.25. The worst performer was Saudi Chemical Company falling by 3.5 percent to SR48. The leading shares experienced different performances with Al-Rajhi Bank’s share price declined by 0.3 percent to SR87.75, and Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC) shares going up by 0.4 percent to SR133.50.
