Let your resume stand out

ProPage is a new personal career portfolio URL containing a job seeker’s video introduction, paper resume and references. It’s given free to every job seeker registered on FutureResume.com.

The link to the job seeker’s personal ProPage can be sent to any potential employer or professional contact the job seeker knows, whether or not the company works with FutureResume.com.

ProPage sets job seekers apart from the crowds of other applicants in that the vast majority of candidates send out only a paper resume — and become one in a sea of thousands. With ProPage, job seekers still provide the necessary resume, but also get to make a professional impression through the unique video introduction. The hiring manager gets to see, hear and experience the candidate as a real person, not just a list of past jobs.

All about food

During Ramadan, everyone seems to be obsessed about eating. So check out the new food website — www.123recipes.com. The site aims to help consumers discover the best of food information and content online. The site combines a searchable recipe database and personalization features, as well as a built-in user community around the topic of food. Membership is free and users once registered can save recipes, rate recipes and even upload photos of their cooking experiences.

Business Objects community

The Americas’ SAP Users’ Group (ASUG), the world’s largest customer-run community of SAP professionals has formed the Global Business Objects Network (GBN), an independent user community for customers and partners of Business Objects.

The new, not-for-profit organization is member-led and provides participants from around the world with a network to exchange ideas, find answers to solution challenges and establish a cohesive, powerful customer voice.

Business Objects is a provider of business intelligence (BI) software. SAP acquired Business Objects in January 2008 to expand its business user solution portfolio. It is hoped that GBN will bring together regional groups from around the globe to provide members with a forum to share best practices, leverage each other’s product knowledge and develop lasting relationships.

To introduce Business Objects customers to the value of a connected, global community, membership will be free until 2010. For more information on how to join the community and to participate in building the new group, go to www.gogbn.org.

Pets get the brush off

Designed with pet owners in mind, the new iRobot Roomba 532 and 562 Pet Series Vacuum Cleaning Robots make caring for a home with pets easier.

The Pet Series robots come equipped with an extra set of brushes, a high capacity sweeper bin for trapping even more pet hair, kitty litter or dander and cleaning tools for ensuring both sets of brushes remain free of debris so they can perform optimally.

The sweeper bin holds three-and-a-half times more debris than the vacuum bin, and counter-rotating brushes reach deep into carpets to pull out pet hair and dander.

Infrared beams confine and guide the iRobot Pet Series Robot from room to room and then return it to its home base when it’s done vacuuming. The robots have the ability to easily transition from carpets to hard flooring.

The Roomba 562 Pet Series Robot can clean up to four standard-sized rooms on a single charge. The robot also includes an on-board scheduling function, so it can be programmed to automatically clean seven days a week, even when no one’s at home.
