JEDDAH: Muhammad Al-Tunisi, who has about 30 years experience in journalism and held leadership positions in major Saudi newspapers, has been named editor-in-chief of Okaz Arabic daily.
Al-Tunisi, who holds a master’s degree in journalism from the United States, began his career on the editorial board of Al-Jazirah newspaper in Riyadh.
Later he became the deputy editor-in-chief of the London-based Asharq Al-Awsat before he was appointed editor-in-chief of Al-Eqtisadiah business daily. He later moved to Elaf online newspaper as editor-in-chief, and then became director general of Al-Ekhbariya news channel.
Al-Tunisi received training at major newspapers in the 1980s and attended media courses in the US and Europe.
