Sidelights: Injury during theft exposes thief

HAFR AL-BATIN: A suspect has been arrested in a lingerie store robbery after an injury he sustained breaking into a lockbox reportedly led to his confession. According to a local newspaper yesterday, the suspect confessed to breaking into the store and the safe and stealing SR150,000. The police questioned the man about a wound on his hand, and under pressure he confessed that he injured himself trying to open the case.

Missing liver in sheep infuriates host

HAFR AL-NAMAS: When cooking an entire sheep to share with friends, it is customary to ensure the coveted liver is offered to guests. But when Moghram Al-Shehri unveiled his feast to his guests, he noticed the liver of the cooked animal was missing. Infuriated, he went back to the restaurant which had prepared the food and complained. Workers at the restaurant denied any knowledge of the missing liver. Al-Shehri pledged to pursue this case with local authorities until the restaurant is punished.
