RIYADH: A five-day accredited trainer program ended on Wednesday in the presence of Faisal Al-Muammar, the general secretary of the King Abdul Aziz Center for National Dialogue, and Ali Al-Ghafees, the governor of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC).
The program is one of several initiatives taken up by the center to promote the culture of dialogue in the Kingdom, especially among the youth.
Around 61 trainers of both genders participated in the program, which took place at Riyadh’s technical college.
Al-Muammar said the program included a combination of practical training and use of dialogue based on clear Islamic ethics.
“We aim to reach out to a large number of people to teach them about the principles of dialogue especially since this is a part of our religion,” said Al-Muammar.
He also underscored the role played by the King Abdul Aziz Center for National Dialogue in strengthening bonds between members of the public in creating unity.
Al-Ghafees said that the National Dialogue Center plays an important role in the Kingdom. “It reaches out to people and advises them to benefit from dialogue,” he said. “The center has various influential cultural ideas to create a change in people’s mentality and understanding,” he added. “Cooperating with the center is part of our duty to the Kingdom; we have plans for more programs like this in the future.”
Dr. Munira Al-Aloola from the TVTC’s Training and Development Department said she was impressed with the female turn out.
“25 women in managerial roles enrolled in the program; that itself is a huge jump forward,” Dr. Al-Aloola said.
“Women employees learned many things during the course of the program. A very well trained employee can develop herself and greatly benefit others,” she said. Al-Aloola added that the program is not exclusively for Riyadh but also for different regions of the Kingdom. “There were representatives from the northern, southern, eastern and western parts of Saudi Arabia,” she said. “The outcome of this program will be visible to trainees at both the professional and personal levels.”
The King Abdul Aziz Center for National Dialogue aims to spread a culture of dialogue and create unity.
It also seeks to cooperate with other organizations to open new channels of speech between people in the Kingdom.
