RIYADH: Saudi Arabia coach Naser Al-Johar has resigned following poor results in World Cup qualifying.
Saudi Football Federation head Prince Sultan bin Fahd said in a statement yesterday that Al-Johar will continue working as a technical adviser for the federation, and that a new coach will be hired in the coming days.
Saudia Arabia lost 1-0 to North Korea on Wednesday and is fourth in its World Cup qualifying group with four points after four matches.
Al-Johar was also sacked by SFF in 2002 when his side was defeated in the FIFA World Cup 8-0 by Germany in the first game and completed a 0-3-0 record with no goal scored and 12 conceded when they followed it with losses against Cameroon and Ireland.
