MADINAH: After winning the heart of his bride-to-be, Muhammad Al-Ahmadi realized he would need money he didn’t have to cover the dowry and wedding expenses, according to a local newspaper. The Madinah man applied for a loan from a local financing company. Unfortunately for him, his application was denied. After discovering he was rejected because of an outstanding SR6,000 phone bill, the angry applicant stormed off to the nearest STC office to get to the bottom of this disgrace. It turns out that a clerical error from eight years ago had caused his name to remain on a phone line from one of his previous residences. After realizing the mistake, the phone company corrected the mistake.
Hollering women deliver pain to patients
LAITH: What is worse than convalescing in a hospital? Convalescing in a hospital bed located too close to the maternity ward, where days and night the wails and groans of women giving birth can be heard to interrupt your peace. This is what several patients at the general ward in the Laith General Hospital have had to put up with since the old maternity ward has been under renovation. Dr. Tariq Al-Ayafi, director of the hospital, told a local newspaper that he rejected further complaints from patients saying the women’s section was not completely separate from the men’s section.
