Yusuffali congratulates Singh

JEDDAH: M.A. Yusuffali, managing director of Emke Group, congratulated Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, following the swearing in ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi on Friday.

Yusuffali, who is a prominent NRI businessman based in Abu Dhabi, wished every success for Premier Singh and his new government.

Yusuffali has always strived to bring in foreign investments and expertise to India especially to Kerala for various infrastructural development projects, most importantly the International Airport in Cochin.

The business tycoon has companies in the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Yemen, Kuwait, Kenya, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong, China, Tanzania, Benin and India. Emke Group employs more than 20,000 people, including 14,000 Indians at home and abroad.

In recognition of his remarkable achievements in business and industry and his distinguished social services, Yusuffali was conferred the prestigious Padma Shri award by President Pratibha Patil on May 5, 2008. He was the first Non-resident Indian from the Gulf and Middle East to be honored with this coveted award by the government of India.
