JEDDAH: A pioneer organization set up by the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) to act as a bridge between the Labor Office and the private sector in Jeddah two years ago is now set to open offices across the Kingdom.
Abdul Rahman Saad Al-Bawardi, undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor, said the organization — known as the Tasheel Office (the Facilitation Office) — will widen its target area by establishing offices across Saudi Arabia.
Al-Bawardi made the statement at the end of a three-day meeting of the directors of labor offices across the Kingdom that concluded on Monday.
“The office has become the accredited channel of communication between the private sector and the Labor Office in Jeddah in the recruitment of foreign manpower,” said Al-Bawardi. “The ministry fully supports this office, which has correct and updated data about establishments wishing to recruit foreign manpower from outside,” he said.
He also urged private companies and establishments to benefit from services offered by the office.
In addition to providing young Saudis with training to make them employable, the office also helps recruit foreign manpower.
Lama Al-Sulaiman, director of the Jeddah Council for Human Resources Development, said the Tasheel Office is the council’s arm that implements recruitment programs, boosts Saudization and eradicates the occurrence of people setting up fake companies to obtain recruitment visas.
“This could not have been possible without the help of Minister of Labor Ghazi Al-Gosaibi who was keen to create a real partnership between the private sector and the JCCI,” she said.
