MAKKAH: A mentally and physically impaired boy died when a fire broke out on the first floor of a residential building in Makkah’s Al-Aziziyah district on Friday night, Civil Defense spokesman Lt. Col. Ali Al-Muntashiri announced on Saturday. He did not reveal the name, nationality or age of the boy.
He said the ambulance of the Red Crescent rushed the boy to Al-Nur Specialist Hospital where he was pronounced dead by smoke inhalation.
“There were no traces of fire burns on his body,” said Al-Muntashiri.
Foul play has been ruled out as a cause for the fire, but investigations are ongoing.
