YANBU: After nine hours, coast guard divers managed to pull out of water near Al-Batha marina in Yanbu Industrial City a vehicle that plunged three meters deep into the sea at about 3 a.m. on Monday.
Police spokesman Capt. Talia ibn Sulaiman Al-Shihiri said the driver, a young Saudi man, managed to get out of the vehicle.
“The rescue teams and divers rushed to the scene to discover that the car had been completely submerged,” he said. “It took them nine hours to pull the car out of the water.”
He said the staff of the industrial security of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu and a number of volunteers participated in the recovery operation. Al-Shihri asked vacationers to park their cars away from the seashore and to observe all safety measures for their own good.
