RIYADH: Jet Airways, India’s premier international airline that currently operates flights to 64 destinations across the world, launched its services from the Saudi capital city on Thursday with the introduction of its direct flight from Riyadh to Mumbai.
The inaugural Jet Airways flight left King Khalid International Airport (KKIA) late Wednesday night following a glittering ceremony. Addressing a press conference here yesterday, Afzal Azam Baig, general manager for Jet Airways Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, said: “We are excited by establishing direct links between India and one of the Middle East’s key destinations — Riyadh — a major center of trade and industry as well as a vibrant market for both business and cultural passengers.” On behalf of Fursan Travel, the GSA of Jet Airways; Roger Pfund, Fursan’s chief executive officer, briefed the newsmen about Jet Airways’ future plans and the quality services.
The press conference was attended by executives from the local travel and tourism industry. Pfund said that “the passengers going with Jet Airways to India can also use Mumbai as gateway for many other South Asian destinations like Hong Kong and Singapore.”
