BAHA: Thirty-one bus passengers including the driver escaped with minor to moderate injuries when their bus turned upside down on a dangerous mountain road in Wadi Dhala area in Asir province Thursday evening.

“A Pakistani worker suffered an arm fracture and 20 others minor or medium level injuries,” Asir Civil Defense spokesman Maj. Muhammad Al-Osaimi told Arab News. “Some of them have been admitted to Asir General Hospital.”

The spokesman said police believe the bus overturned because the brakes failed and the driver lost control of the vehicle as it gained speed on a downhill incline. The bus struck the railing and flipped, but did not plunge over the side where it could have landed in a river.
