JEDDAH: A delegation of US mayors visited King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) earlier this week. The dignitaries toured the city and discussed investment opportunities with Fahd Al-Rasheed, board member and CEO of Emaar, The Economic City (Emaar EC), a Tadawul-listed company that is developing the new city.
The delegation, headed by Michael B. Coleman, mayor of Columbus, Ohio, comprised Virginia DuPuy, mayor of Waco, Texas; Bob Foster, mayor of Long Beach, California; Scott Smith, mayor of Mesa, Arizona; and Dominic Sarno, mayor of Springfield, Illinois.
Al-Rasheed presented KAEC’s attractive investment opportunities and focused on the Industrial Valley that is regarded as one of the most advanced industrial zones in the world with its world-class infrastructure, urban planning and logistics feasibility.
“This visit aspires to forge greater understanding between the US and Saudi Arabia and creates stronger economic, educational, and cultural characteristics between the two countries,” Coleman said.
“KAEC should be the Eighth Wonder of the World,” he remarked while concluding the visit.
