YANBU: Malarvadi Balasangam in Yanbu, an organization of Keralite children, recently organized a variety of programs for the cultural, educational and moral development of its members.

The edutainment camp named “Changatham” (or friendship) was attended by a large number of schoolchildren. An interactive program, titled “Damu is also a good boy,” taught children the importance of moral values.

There was a special session for the evaluation of the IChange diary published by Malarvadi Saudi Arabia earlier this year for the personality and educational development of children.

The camp also included a presentation on parenting by officials from CIGI (Center for Information and Guidance, India). A large number of parents attended the presentation by Mehaboob Ahmed, Rasheed Ameer and Naseer Ahmed of CIGI, Jeddah. The release of a stupendous souvenir, named “Uravu” (Yanbu in Malayalam), prepared by Malarvadi and Tanima officials was the highlight of the concluding session.

P.K. Abdul Ghafour of Arab News released the literary work by giving a copy to Sree Kumar, area manager of Nasser S. Al-Hajri Corp. In his speech, Abdul Ghafour commended the efforts of Mustafa Noorul Hassan, chief editor of Uravu, and his team in bringing out an outstanding magazine.

Yanbu Vicharavedi President Venugopal, Malarvadi/Tanima Patron Sabu Vellarappilli, Coordinator Ziya-ul-Haq, Noorul Hassan and Abdul Kabeer spoke about the souvenir. The 180-page illustrated magazine contains a number of informative articles, interesting poems and stories, marvelous artworks of children and photos of Malarvadi members.
