“The JEF, which is organized by the Gulf Research Center, comes at a time when the world is passing through highly complicated situations,” a Cabinet statement said. “The forum tackles modern issues with the participation of world economic leaders,” it added.
The Cabinet also commended the successful efforts of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah to reconcile Sudan and Chad. “We thank God for what has been achieved in the way of strengthening good relations between the two African neighbors,” the Cabinet said. The weekly Cabinet meeting, which was chaired by Crown Prince Sultan, deputy premier and minister of defense and aviation, expressed its hope that peace and stability would prevail in relations between Sudan and Chad. It also wished greater progress and prosperity for all the people of the two countries.
King Abdullah last week received telephone calls from Sudanese President Omar Bashir and his Chadian counterpart Idriss Deby. Both leaders thanked the king for his mediation and for the success of the reconciliation talks in Riyadh and Makkah.
Culture and Information Minister Abdul Aziz Khoja said the Cabinet had adopted a number of decisions and approved measures to regulate water and electricity distribution in the twin industrial cities of Jubail and Yanbu.
The Electricity and Cogeneration Regulatory Authority has been instructed to organize its services in the two cities on the basis of Cabinet decision No. 57 issued on 28/3/1420 A.H. The authority will organize production and distribution of cold, purified, sewage, industrial and drinking water in the two cities.  The Cabinet agreed to provide monthly financial assistance to the sons of dead female teachers if their husbands are not working as teachers. The Cabinet endorsed the agreement for cooperation between King Abdul Aziz Darat (Museum) in Riyadh and the Center for Heritage and Culture in Turkmenistan. It also approved an agreement with Uzbekistan for the avoidance of double taxation and prevention of tax evasion.
The Cabinet appointed Abdul Aziz bin Muhammad Abdul Wahab, system expert at the Experts’ Committee at the Council of Ministers; Abdul Rahman bin Abdullah Al-Eidan, financial adviser at the Ministry of Defense and Aviation; and Badriya bint Saleh Al-Aradi, director general of women’s employment at the Ministry of Civil Service.
